After an early-ish departure from Perth we arrived in Bussleton and were in need of something to eat. We settled upon The Goose Bar and Kitchen so that we could eat outside and with a view of the beach and ocean. The ordering system at The Goose is straight forward with menu’s left on each table for you to peruse and when you have decided you order up at the bar and provide the table number for where you are located. Tap water is provided in a large dispenser along with cups and cutlery is brought out to you by the staff.
We had a bit of a wait as the kitchen was setting up for lunch as we found we were just a tad too late to find a place for brunch so instead we had to settle for something off the lunch menu. While waiting for the kitchen to set up for lunch and cook our meal we ordered a drink to sip on while we took in the view. I went for a Howard Park riesling and R went for a local beer. The drinks were a little pricy compared to Perth prices ($10 for a middy of beer) but I am unsure how they compare with prices in the region.
I ordered the gnocchi, R ordered the kofta’s from their daily menu and E ordered the crispy pork belly salad. The food came out reasonably quickly, but I was not overly impressed with the portion size of the gnocchi, it was a little on the smaller side and I was quite famished after the drive down south. The meals however were delicious and we enjoyed them all thoroughly. The pork belly was delicious and the salad combination was quite interesting. I was impressed we had the restraint to grab a picture of the dishes before they were quickly devoured as we were quite hungry and they were very tasty.
The view was nice and the outdoor seating was well arranged to take advantage of that. I would happily return for the food as it was well cooked but perhaps would go for one of the pizza’s next time to see if I got a more filling feed.
